Kevin Lannon is a physics professor and one of the roughly 3,000 scientists collaborating on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment that collects data from proton collisions in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the CERN laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. These collisions, the most powerful ever created in a laboratory, allow scientists to explore conditions that have not been seen in nature since a fraction of a second after the big bang.
